Table of fees

The fees of Sheriff Officers and of Messengers-at-Arms are reviewed periodically and are strictly prescribed by Act of Sederunt. All Sheriff Officers and Messengers-at-Arms, whether individuals or firms, must adhere to the fee tables therein.

Please note the surcharges applicable to service in a remote rural area or where the value of an action exceeds £100,000 as defined in Section 2 Amendment of Fees set out in the relevant Act of Sederunt and Amendment.

Sheriff Officers: current fees

With effect from 23 January, 2012 the fees of Sheriff Officers are stipulated by Act of Sederunt (Fees of Sheriff Officers) (No. 2) 2011 as amended by Act of Sederunt (Fees of Sheriff Officers) (Amendment) 2012.

Messengers-at-Arms: current fees

With effect from 23 January, 2012 the fees of Messengers-at-Arms are stipulated by Act of Sederunt (Fees of Messengers-at-Arms) (No. 2) 2011 as amended by Act of Sederunt (Fees of Messengers-at-Arms) (Amendment) 2012.
